I've been craving the moto/tough girl chic look lately, so there's a lot of black, leather, and a simple tunic top I think would make the outfit just a little relaxed. (First list, just thought I'd play around with t things teamsugar has to offer.)

Crocs

I just got a job at a Crocs store, and that means I have to get a pair of Crocs to wear to work each day. I'm just not sure which ones to get (because honestly I find most styles very ugly!) but I'm down to a few options. I realize to a lot of people Crocs are the opposite of fashionable, but I'm going to have to wear them so I want a nice pair.

First, Santa Cruz in White/Lapis Pattern:

And now, Malindi in Navy:

I think the Santa Cruz style may be more comfortable, and I would maybe also want to wear them out of the house other than to work.

The Malindi is also cute, but I'm not sure about the slingback style or how comfortable they would be in comparison to the Santa Cruz. I like them anyway.

Both of them come in a variety of pretty colors too. Hmm.

Puppy!

My boyfriend and I got a puppy a few days ago (March 28)!!! Our puppy is a corgi named Oy (a character from a book -- Dark Tower or something? -- that my boyfriend read. He's a sweet little thing, and only a little over 8 weeks old! We're seriously in love with him already, like love at first sight kinda thing, and we're both so excited to see this relationship grow.

I'll have to upload some photos at some point in the next few days maybe.. (we took several but my boyfriend's camera is having trouble! Maybe we'll just take some pictures with my cam soon instead).

2009 Resolutions

1. Write more! I have an interest in becoming a writer, but I'm also afraid of failure which causes me to procrastinate. This year I want things to be different, and my goal is to improve my writing by the end of this year (and continue writing all through my years) by making sure to write something everyday. On days where I'm not feeling inspired, it's okay if I only write a sentence just to keep up my resolution.

I'm interested in maintaining a journal, whether offline or in an online blog, containing poetry as well as daily thoughts. I believe that by writing everyday, as well as studying writing throughout the year, I will have the ability to improve my skills greatly by January 2010.

Oh, to blog..

Recently, I feel a bit uninspired.. a bit bored, perhaps. I've been flipping through magazines, reading design and fashion blogs.. just looking for some sort of inspiration. Sometimes I kind of wonder, shouldn't I be searching for inspiration within myself? I just figure I have creative ability (perhaps talent?) like anyone else, and I need to figure out what exactly I could excel in and how to showcase my newly found skill. You know, once I find it.
I made things and sold them on Etsy a few years ago, but stopped a few months in. Perhaps this time around I'll try harder and stay dedicated to my work. Maybe I'll believe in myself and my ability more.. maybe I haven't entirely tapped into whatever creative ability I even have.
And so.. the search begins.

I've been researching different types of things I could do, paper crafts, painting, drawing (which I've always been awful at, but never really aimed to improve), graphic design, whatever. I'm big on research before I begin a project - or several in this case - so I may just continue that research for the next week or so, finding myself inspired by other people's creations or keen eye for design.

Who knows. I want to redecorate my home, start taking photos for my style diary again and feel like I'm creative.. again. Ah, well.
